About the Devils Lake SBDC Staff:

Sandy Shively, Center Director:  Sandy started at North Central Planning Council (NCPC) as an Economic Development Coordinator and Small Business Development Center Business Advisor in 2010. In May 2013 she became the Executive Director.  Sandy graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Management and is a National Development Council Certified Economic Development Finance Professional.

Sandy has worked for non-profits for over 25 years and has 15 years management experience.  She has served on a number of boards over the years and currently serves as a board member for the Rural Economic Area Partnership Investment Board; she is a Ramsey County Representative on the Community Development Corporation and is a Trustee for the Devils Lake Area Foundation.  Sandy also serves on the Devils Lake Renaissance Board.

 

Amy Berg, Business Advisor:  Amy started at North Central Planning Council (NCPC) as a Community Development Coordinator and Small Business Development Center Business Advisor March 2018. Amy brings ten years of experience in Real Estate Management which includes Acquisitions, Agricultural Land Management, Multi-family Development, Commercial Development, and Lease Management. She received a degree in Business Management and Administration from Axia College of University of Phoenix. 

In her free time, Amy volunteers for various non-profits. Her most recent volunteer projects have been Habitat for Humanity, active 8 years, and Farm Rescue, active 10 years. She taught Sunday school at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND and has served on the North Dakota State Board of Health, specifically in Pain Management for Long Term Patients. One of Amy’s passions is working with individuals to achieve their short and long term goals. Amy enjoys diversity and looks at challenges as opportunities.  (Picture coming soon!)
